Well folks, dont slaughter me, its another testpiece of mine. Just learning the basics of brushing and experimenting with different formats. The stars i submitted turned out useful as well lol. The planet is a resource from the great scifi artist and i think it looks great. Created with photoshop cs. Hope you like it folks.
I think this piece ended up really nicely, the clouds, although a bit irreal, fit very well in there
did you use a cloudy texture for that and the smudge tool to retouch it a bit? The brushing is amazing, the only thing I'd touch up a bit would be some of the clouds around the planet, just some little shading, to give it some depth, so it would look like they were "hugging" the planet, embracing it, like a baby (a sleeping and silent one)
In my opinion, the starfield looks a little heavy, but it's not much of a problem beacuse of the clouds, they make an awesome combination, especially the big flare on the left wich is a bit covered by them.
It's a style really different from what I'm used to see around here, and very beautiful in its own way, and I like it a lot.
