Now this piece really put up a struggle to get done. After the real shooting at the location, me and my friend was surprised by a snowstorm. After 6 hours of driving in bitch weather and driving off the road twice, we were finally home lol. Insane.
Anyways, this piece is my most worked up photo up to this date. The original was in very poor condition, i had a hard time removing all the noise and snow and water on the lens, and the list goes on. After the groundwork was done, it was time to find out where i really wanted to go with this piece.
Originally i had some small mountains in the back, but i wanted to give it a dreamlike misty feel, and by introdusing the fog, i think i brought more focus to the foreground.
The colors are my favs, blue and white, nothing gives that serene and silent impression it radiates as blue and white does.
Hope you guys like it.
Tools of the trade: Canon 5D, Canon 24-70mm f2.8L Photoshop CS2 and one banged up Nissan Laurel lol
Ooooh, this is also probably one of your most emotionally striking photos yet too.
The composition of it really is unusual, but that's part of what makes it stand out. The two centermost poles tilt inward just a tad, and that really helps keep the top of the pier from dominating the viewer's attention. It also helps draw attention down to the little number 3, which is hardly notable at first glance, but really adds alot when you spend time looking at the piece.
The smoothe, burnished surface of the water is really striking as well, it looks like a smooth plane of frosted glass like a window in winter. And as you said, the color really is soothing in a cool, smooth way. It's like a root beer float for the eyes.
this is beautfiul! these are my favorite colours as well. this is definately an amazing shot
