This piece conveys a particular feeling (and forgive me if I am repeating anyone who has already commented, since there are lots), but it is amplified much further by the idea as well as the view of the vastness of space. It is not merely something someone lost idily, but something lost beyond time, and lost beyond the chances of getting it back.
It almost feels like the warmer color scheme of the sunset is wanting to lift higher than you have included here. If you ever take another go at it, perhaps let that sunset sky wander higher, because I have a feeling it will connect all three elements (earth, sky, and space) a little better, as well as create a really dazzling array of color.
Lovely work though, and a beautiful photograph to start from!
