Lost In Thoughts by Mr-Frenzy Lost In Thoughts by Mr-Frenzy
The day is done, and the darkness
Falls from the wings of Night,
As a feather is wafted downward
From an eagle in his flight.

I see the lights of the village
Gleam through the rain and the mist,
And a feeling of sadness comes o'er me
That my soul cannot resist:

A feeling of sadness and longing,
That is not akin to pain,
And resembles sorrow only
As the mist resembles the rain.

Come, read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling,
And banish the thoughts of day.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882).

Shot late at night not far from where i live. I had a feeling the fog would come sneaking once the rain stopped pouring down.

Hope you guys like it.

When I saw the thumbnail for this photo I was quite curious what it would look like when I opened it up, and each time I zoomed further in the photo became better and better, exceeding my expectations. When viewing it in full size it's a really beautiful photograph with interesting details.

Vision - 5/5
You've found a great subject and captured it well, to photograph this scene at night in this kind of weather makes for a really beautiful photograph and I imagine that if you would've taken the same shot in daylight it would not be striking the viewer as much as it does now.

Originality - 5/5
There are many photographs of urban landscapes by water shot at night, but I still think this photograph really stands out from the crowd. Your scene has a little bit of everything, creating something original and different from other photographs.

Technique - 5/5
As there is no exif data for me to view I can't know for sure what settings you've used but just from judging the photograph itself I can tell that it's nice and sharp, there's no grain in the shadows and you've created a nice light trails thanks to a long exposure. It's really well done and I can tell you know what you're doing with your camera.

Impact - 5/5
Giving you any less than 5/5 on impact is just illogical. It's a perfectly executed photograph that leaves an impact on me as a viewer and it doesn't get boring when you look at this photograph for a while, there's always something new to discover. The only thing would be though that the horizon seems slightly crooked, just by the tiniest amount, but it could also be an illusion because of the hill.
