Silence Of Souls 2nd session by Mr-Frenzy Silence Of Souls 2nd session by Mr-Frenzy
Wow it's been a while! :)

After some time playing around with different things i finally decided to work out another spacescape, the classic calm soothing piece. I was toying with the idea of something more dramatic like an explotion but i gotta admit im not that confident in my skills at the moment. Its been way too long since i made anything afterall.

Ok, the foreground image is composed of 5 different pictures. I must say i had a hell working out that transition, but i think it turned out ok. The lower part with the lake was originally in nature blue, wich was kinda a pain to work into the strong contrast of the sunset.

The big planet up left is my newest planet, Spectronica, hehe, i guess i was kinda tired figuring out that cheesy name :D, so dont flame me too much lol. I was working on some different techniques regarding the texture wich worked out great. And compared to most of my previous planets, Spectronica has few clouds. I will be posting the planet soon as well as a wallpaperversion, after some more tuning i guess.

The starfield is pretty classic, though i wanted to keep the piece natural and not blog it with a big nebula or something bright as a flare.

Its good to be back my friends :hug:

Frenz..

Info:

Working size: 2000 x 4790 (after merging the planet)
Layers: 36
Time: 5 hours(without the planet)
Tools of the trade: Photoshop cs2

Foreground pictures:
All 5 images wich compose the foreground is from sxc.hu/

Very nice! There is some noise though in the bottom part, you should use reduce noise filter in Photoshop CS2, works like a charm! But it can also be the JPEG quality, mmm whatever. Great moon but again the planet, I think a red atmosphere would work better with the overall picture...

O_O

Wow.

SPECTACULAR colors in that photo part...they just jump out at you...great job stitching them together...the planets, too, are great, and the space part of the sky is just subtle enough so as not to distract from the beauty of the piece below. The height of the thing and I think the size of the large planet [that it covers the corner there] add to the silent feel [though I'm not quite sure how].

Perhaps the planets are slightly too grey-blue...since that's the opposing color to orange, it makes for a somewhat unwelcome contrast...very very nice work though.

I love the transition - very simple yet very well done all the same. I'm actually not too keen on the contrast between the orange and the purple of the starscape - it does look better when I zoom out but I'm not sure. Having said that, mind you, the more I look at this piece, the more it grows on me.
Also, much as I love your planets, I'd leave them out of this one, or at the least look at re-sizing/positioning them. At the moment, as you reach the top of the image, everything is lumped over towards the left and you lose the balance of the image. I know this sort of scene is very rarely done without any celestial bodies but I'm not keen on the use of this planet here.
Actually, now I think about it, I don't mind the orange/purple so much as the light blue of the planet's atmosphere. So there you go. The starscape's fine.

*wanders off to be useless elsewhere* :P

Well Spectronia is looking awesome. I like the texture it has. And I think you did great on the foreground. I would never have guessed it was 5 pictures mixed together. The two parts go really well together too. I think you're making a good comeback. I can't wait to see something else from you.
