This is very pretty! I'm tempted to mark it as a , but I do have one suggestion for improvement: I think it might look better if you were to balance the white flowers on the bottom by swapping the large white flower from the end of the top row, to the center of the top row. Apart from the possibility of improving that minor point of composition, this looks excellent!
Yeah, after thinking about it a bit more, I think it's going to get that , at least for now -- but I know that I'll be moving that to the revised version, should you choose to create one, because I think it would change a good composition of beautifully-shot flowers to an *excellent* composition, composed of absolutely beautiful elements.
Keep this sort of thing up, and I won't be at all surprised if I see your work (specifically the macro-images of flowers) in print, professionally, one of these days.
You're very welcome! I always love to help out when I see an excellent artist whose work I may be able to suggest improvements to, no matter how slight. In this picture, I noticed that it's *beautifully* balanced in every other way -- warm colours on top, cool blue on the bottom, large flowers on top, small on the bottom, and it just seemed to me that swapping two flowers would create a truly top-notch composition out of something that was already very beautiful in and of itself.
I'm glad the suggestion was both welcomed and considered useful -- I'm always nervous when making suggestions to an artist for the first time, lest they take offense, or think I'm being over-critical of a piece which it's just as likely that I totally *love* in its existing version, regardless of whether I think it's possible to improve it, or in other cases, to work on a certain element in order to improve future artworks of that type. I think it's because so often critique seems to be viewed as downplaying a piece's quality, rather than trying to help the artist reach ever-greater heights, no matter how skilled and talented they may already be.
It's simply my opinion that *everyone*, no matter how good their existing work, can get better -- and it's really heart-warming to be given a chance to be a part of that, whether in improving my own work through someone's kind suggestion, or helping another artist improve theirs. In fact, I consider it all the more flattering when a really talented artist finds my suggestions useful. It's like the warm glow one might get from suggesting a slight change in Mozart's music, and having him think it's good enough to keep.
A long answer to a short comment, but I just feel glad to have been able to help.
wow, i dont know where to begin to reply to this one lol. Its the people like you that keeps me going, striving to get better and with help and chriticism from artists like you i feel the urge to get better. Thanks for making DA a better place to be bro
Gee, thank *YOU*! I'm very flattered. Not a bro, (as my OB/GYN could attest), but flattered nonetheless. I'm glad to be one of the artists and people who inspire you -- there are so many folks here who inspire me, in turn.
