Well quick story about the shot. Me and a friend of mine were out hiking, taking a break from exams and stuff. I wasn't even out on a photoshoot, but as usual, i'd bring my cam with me just in case something would show up. We were sitting at this cliffside, drinking a cup of coffee and about to call it a day, when suddenly the sky cleared a bit, and boom, this lovely sunset appeared. Boy was i glad i had my cam with me

Think i did 30 mins shoot to get some variations going in the light, and this was the one i picked out.

This . . . this is so perfect. It's been sitting in my inbox waiting because I never had time to give a decent comment, and ti needed one.
I love the way this is a picture of the sunset without being cliche. The sun is over the water, yes, blah blah, BUT you avoided centering it and making this perfectly symmetrical little picture. Instead you have this marvelous capture (I love the fact that it's tall, rather than wide, so we see the range of color) and then there's a branch to add interest. It's just . . . it's beautiful. I love it.
The shaped halo around the sun, the fade to black . . .
Yes, you were lucky to find a nice sunset, but it wasn't all luck. This was well-shot.
